Crib be gone

Today was Lilly's first day sleeping outside the walled compound known as her crib. She'd recently made a few sucessfull escape attempts against said crib so we figured the walls were no longer usefull anyway. She seemed pretty happy about her new bed, mostly because of the sweet comforter she picked out almost entirely on her own. By almost I mean I may have offered her my opinion on the matter in an impartial, factually sound manner.

Thanksgiving

I'm a little spaced out on on tryptophan and pumpkin pie at the moment so I'm just gonna post some pictures.

Lilly, Camille and Nana starting the day off with some arts and craftiness.  Some of the arts involved chocolate muffins so Lilly actually sat reasonably still and participated for quite a while.

Lilly craftifying a muffin while Camille looks on with envy.

The Bird!  Joe's first attempt at frying a turkey came out pretty well.  And better yet, no structures were consumed by fire.
The aftermath.
Our first attempt at a group pic after dinner.  If somebody could keep their kids under control it would have only taken one try.
Lilly biting her lip, fighting the urge to run around in circles right before the flash is about to go off.
Camille and Papa sharing some deep thoughts.
The End

Snow!

Over the last couple days hurricane Lilly has traded in her usual mud puddle forays for the frosty funness of snow.  Its been her first real chance to play in the white stuff and its quickly becoming her favorite thing ever.

DSC_0031This was during our snow angel lesson.  She didn’t quite grasp a few of the concepts and ended up flapping around like a bird stuck on its back.

After the kiddies were in bed I wondered around the neighborhood with my tripod looking for something to shoot (which will, by the way, get you stared at by the neighbors).

DSC_0016 This was from our front door.

DSC_0018This was my first try at shooting a little pond by our place.  It was a 25 second exposure and a big gust of wind kicked up a big cloud of snow about 15 seconds in.  The ghost image is the last few seconds of the exposure taken after I swiveled the camera away from the snow.

DSC_0023A shot of the street.

DSC_0029One last street shot.  At this point I was a bit numb so I packed it in for the evening.
